1. Who we are
Floral Curiosity is operated by Katie Louise Acey, a sole trader trading as Floral Curiosity. Our shop and correspondence address is 4 Watmough Arcade, St Augustine's Gate, Hedon, Hull, HU12 8EZ.
You can contact us at floralcuriosity@outlook.com or 01482 818112.
2. These terms
These terms apply when a consumer orders from this website. They sit alongside the product description, price, delivery information and choices shown at checkout. Nothing in them limits rights that cannot lawfully be limited, including rights relating to faulty or misdescribed goods.
Please contact us before ordering if you need a flower, ingredient or material excluded because of an allergy or safety concern. Flowers and plants are not for consumption and should be kept away from children and pets where appropriate.
3. Products and natural variation
Flowers and foliage are natural and seasonal products. Colour, shape and exact composition can vary from photographs. Photographs show the style and standard of the arrangement rather than guaranteeing every pictured stem.
If a flower is unavailable, we will normally choose a suitable substitute of a similar style and value. We may contact you if a substantially different replacement is needed. We will not substitute a choice you expressly asked us to exclude.
For Pick & Mix, the currently published stem selection, price and availability apply. The range can change weekly. Pick & Mix has a £20 minimum before postage and is postal-only at launch.
4. Prices and payment
Prices are in pounds sterling. The product page and checkout show the product total, delivery charge and final amount before payment. Floral Curiosity is not VAT registered, so VAT is not charged or shown separately. Payment is taken securely through Stripe. We do not ask customers to put payment-card details in a flower note, card message, email or WhatsApp message.
5. Placing and accepting an order
You must check the product choices, recipient's full name, delivery address and postcode, card message and your contact details before placing an order.
Submitting payment is an offer to buy. We accept the order when we issue the order-confirmation email after successful payment. If we cannot accept the order, we will contact you and return any amount taken. An automated technical message that does not contain an order confirmation is not acceptance.
We may refuse or cancel an order where, for example, a product or delivery method is unavailable, supplied information is incomplete, the price is clearly wrong, or we reasonably suspect fraud or misuse.
6. Collection and delivery
Collection is from the shop along the outdoor pedestrian walkway at Watmough Arcade. Collection hours are Tuesday to Friday, 10am–5pm, and Saturday, 10am–2pm. Please bring the order reference.
The website lists our named local-delivery areas and charges. Please call before ordering if an address is local but is not listed. Standard same-day local-delivery ordering closes at 1pm Tuesday to Saturday, subject to availability and the product's preparation time. These are ordering deadlines, not guaranteed arrival times.
If nobody is home, we will try to leave the order in a suitable safe place at the address or with a neighbour and leave a note. If neither is possible, the first re-delivery attempt is free on the next available day. After two unsuccessful attempts, we will contact the buyer to agree a further delivery and charge.
Only products marked for postal delivery can be posted. Standard mainland UK postage is £5.95 for Tuesday–Friday arrival. Saturday-arrival postage is £12. The selected option and arrival date are confirmed at checkout.
7. Funerals, weddings and time-sensitive orders
Funeral flowers normally need one week's notice. Complex bespoke tributes may need longer; simple wreaths or posies may sometimes be possible in one or two days where choices are flexible. Supply the deceased's full name, funeral date and time, funeral director's full name and address, exact lettering, flower and ribbon preferences, and flowers to include or avoid.
Funeral deliveries normally reach the funeral director the day before between 8:30am and 9am unless agreed otherwise. Monday and Tuesday funerals are arranged with the funeral director as described on our Ordering and delivery page.
Wedding and event orders may be subject to a separate written quotation and agreed specification. Where that conflicts with these general terms, the specific written agreement takes priority.
8. Changes, cancellation and returns
Please contact us as soon as possible if an order needs changing or cancelling. For fresh-flower orders, please give at least two days' notice before collection or delivery. A change may no longer be possible once we have started making the arrangement.
The statutory change-of-mind cancellation right does not normally apply to goods that deteriorate rapidly, such as fresh flowers, or to goods made to the customer's specification or clearly personalised. A greeting card written with the customer's requested message is treated as personalised. This does not remove rights where goods are faulty, misdescribed or not supplied with reasonable care.
For eligible standard, non-personalised and non-perishable goods bought online, tell us within 14 days after delivery if you wish to cancel. Return them within the following 14 days, unused and with reasonable care taken. Unless the goods are faulty or incorrect, the customer pays the direct return cost. We refund the eligible product price and standard outbound delivery charge within 14 days after receiving the return, or evidence that it was sent, using the original payment method.
Read our Returns and refunds policy for the complete process. You can use our model cancellation form, but an email or other clear statement is sufficient.
9. Damage, faults and mistakes
Contact us promptly with the order reference and, where useful, photographs if flowers or another item arrive damaged, faulty, incorrect or not as described. Our normal first remedy for damaged flowers is a replacement arrangement. That is not the customer's only remedy where the law provides a refund, repair, replacement or other right.
We are responsible for foreseeable loss caused by our breach of contract or failure to use reasonable care. We do not exclude liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
10. Personal information and complaints
We use personal information as described in our Privacy notice. Please do not include unnecessary sensitive personal information in card messages or flower instructions.
Please contact us first so we can try to resolve a problem. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. A consumer can bring a claim in the courts applicable to where they live where consumer law permits.
